Otherplaces is a design-led contemporary property investment and development company, that creates distinct architectural buildings with a sense of place and belonging. Otherplaces exists to challenge and change the norm of development, to create a better built environment that is more socially and environmentally sustainable than what is known.

For Gary Todd, architecture is about creating special places in context with their natural and built environment for the enjoyment of people who live in them, work in them, or experience them. Every project, regardless of scale, is considered a unique opportunity to create something amazing for clients community and society.

Bringing their characteristic eclectic flair to Ebb’s interiors, Sydney-based INDYK Architects strive for innovation and excellence in all their projects, from residential and commercial, to community building.

Simon Kaan is the local artist commissioned to create Ebb’s 20 meter long by 3 story high glass facade artwork. The work is digitally printed onto 30 glass panels, combining together to create the final artwork. Simon’s meditative artworks are characterised by a sense of rhythm and movement. With Dunedin’s land, sea and sky scapes dominating his work, he has become one of the most highly sought after and collectible New Zealand artists working today.

Entrusted with some of Australia’s most iconic brands, MAUD is a group of designers, writers, developers, producers and strategists across Sydney and Melbourne. MAUD brought its graphic design rigour and digital excellence to create Ebb’s visual identity.

Irenaeus is based in Sydney Australia but his work takes him to many remote locations around the globe. With a formal education in fine arts and a background in design, he specialises in landscape, portraiture and aerial photography, drawing his inspiration from old master paintings and cinema. Irenaeus was commissioned to shoot Ebb's brand identity - centered around the mysterious coastal scenes of Dunedin. Look out for our upcoming exhibition of Irenaeus's works in the atrium.

Jeremy captured Ebb's architecture and interiors for our brand identity. Trained in photography and graphic design, Jeremy’s approach is shaped by a deep understanding of composition, colour and form. Whether working on a large campaign or a one on one portrait, Jeremy is committed to capturing a unique and authentic perspective of his subject. His critical thinking and technical precision allows him to create quality work that is both thoughtful and enduring.

Stewarts Construction is the head contractor responsible for delivering Ebb's built form and bespoke joinery. Stewarts have tirelessly worked to deliver a building of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Simon is a local craftsman and furniture maker, focusing on longevity, honest materials and the effortless combination of beauty and function. Keep an eye out for his timeless Isabella chairs in the hotel.

Bentu is an independent design brand founded in 2011. Engaged in product design and innovation, combining design with manufacture, they’re experimental, explorative, and cross-over team. Based on their design, they make products that meet our daily need. Through a series of experiments and exploration, they make each material return to its nature by revealing its original texture.

Ebb's supplier of decorative lighting. ECC represents the world's leading lighting and furniture brands and brings these exclusively to New Zealand. ECC continually searches the world for innovative designs and solutions to meet increasingly complex lighting and design requirements. Look out for iconic dripping light by London based designer Jordi Canudas.

Jack Tilson is a Dunedin-born, Auckland-based ceramicist. Jack has crafted a series of works for Ebb’s rooms and public spaces. Jack takes a simple approach in the making of ceramics. His works are thrown on the pottery wheel from hand-dug clay and earth. Jack fires his works in a handbuilt kiln constructed from clay bricks, using only wood for fuel. Jack’s ceramics are functional artworks that celebrate a connection between nature and the human body.

Ashley and Co. is a modern-day scent company, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Established just over a decade ago by Jackie Ashley, Ashley & Co now sends their unique scent style worldwide. Bound by a passion for scent, the Ashley & Co. range includes home perfume, hair, hand + body cleansing and nourishing - and even a range of cleaning essentials. “Our ethos is simple: scent is good for the soul. It stimulates our senses and makes us feel present. We make a range of products that people can use multiple times during their day, at home and on the move, making multiple moments of scent-filled magic”, says founder, Jackie Ashley. Not beholden to a particular style or trend, Ashley & Co. strive for considered simplicity in their range, comfortably weaving into your day-to-day, uplifting, and bringing joy. Centred on Scent. Ebb is proud to be serving Kōkako coffee in both Ebb-Cafe and in-room. We provide a pour-over filter coffee to reduce single-use plastic waste produced by Nespresso Machines. This also collects coffee grinds to ensure they do not end up in the sewage systems causing issues for processing. Kōkako is a fairtrade, organic, and carbon-neutral specialty coffee supplier paving a positive new way forward for the industry - challenging the current norms of production.

Several works by acclaimed Auckland based Russian artist Ilya Volykhine will be exhibited within the atrium. Emerging from behind the iron curtain, Ilya’s paintings, and works on paper, capture the underlying forces that dominate and determine the conditions of the human psyche.

Ebb features several of Sofia's artworks within the atrium. For Sofia, making art is about connecting our modern human experience with the cosmic wisdom of our ancestors. With each brushstroke, Sofia explores powerful themes that are both deeply personal and profoundly universal; of Māori mythology, Mana Wāhine (Divine Feminine), and the mana (integrity) of generations past.
