Simon Kaan is the local artist commissioned to create Ebb’s 20 meter long by 3 story high glass facade artwork. The work is digitally printed onto 30 glass panels, combining together to create the final artwork. Simon’s meditative artworks are characterised by a sense of rhythm and movement. With Dunedin’s land, sea and sky scapes dominating his work, he has become one of the most highly sought after and collectible New Zealand artists working today.

Irenaeus is based in Sydney Australia but his work takes him to many remote locations around the globe. With a formal education in fine arts and a background in design, he specialises in landscape, portraiture and aerial photography, drawing his inspiration from old master paintings and cinema. Jack Tilson is a Dunedin-born, Auckland-based ceramicist. Jack has crafted a series of works for Ebb’s rooms and public spaces. Jack takes a simple approach in the making of ceramics. His works are thrown on the pottery wheel from hand-dug clay and earth. Jack fires his works in a handbuilt kiln constructed from clay bricks, using only wood for fuel. Jack’s ceramics are functional artworks that celebrate a connection between nature and the human body.

Ebb is proud to be serving Kōkako coffee in both Ebb-Cafe and in-room. We provide a pour-over filter coffee to reduce single-use plastic waste produced by Nespresso Machines. This also collects coffee grinds to ensure they do not end up in the sewage systems causing issues for processing. Kōkako is a fairtrade, organic, and carbon-neutral specialty coffee supplier paving a positive new way forward for the industry - challenging the current norms of production.
